Raving Success: Shelly Palmer on “Social Media for Business”
LIEG hosted a presentation on Social Media for Business on Jan 21st at the www.regus.com facility in Melville. Charismatic media guru Shelly Palmer of www.shellypalmermedia.com delivered a stimulating and informative talk to the 140 attendees. He described social media as inevitable and disruptive like the changes in communication that were brought by FAX and e-mail technologies. He suggested using it as if you were talking with your friends at the coffee machine. Shelly strongly advised all business people to get on board the program or risk being left behind the younger generation. For starters, he suggested signing up with Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter. To be successful, you need to learn the social media culture and make a meaningful contribution to your friends there.
